Despite being roughly two hundred years old, Masato appears a a man in his early twenties. He stands roughly five feet ten inches tall and weighs one hundred and fifty pounds. He has a lean muscular build. Masato possesses a fair skintone that bears a slight tan. Masato's has long, jet black colored hair which he keeps in a ponytail. He has sharp facial features and a notably unique red colored eyes.

Clothing:
While most shinigami wear the traditional uniform Masato wears a varied form that he made the official style of dress for all Onmitsukido.Generally he dons a black shirt with mesh netting shirt beneath it on his upper body. He lower attire consists of black pants and a thick white belt with black sandals with white stirrups. He is often seen wearing a large black cloak with a chin high collar. The interior of the cloak is red with red outlines on the zipper and the outer edges of the sleeves. The black represents the darkness that the Onmitsukido operates within. The red represents the blood that they spill for the good of the Soul Society.
Masato also accessories his body with various items. He wears a beaded necklace around his neck and a beaded bracelet around his right wrist. He often wraps bandages around lift leg or right arm. He wears a headband with a steel plate on it around his forehead. the steel plate as a single scratched gouged into it. Masato has a ring that he wears on his right ring finger as well. He has a single spiral tattoo on his left bicep. Masato carries his zanpakuto on his person in one of two forms. The most common method is with it in its true sealed state as a mere katana at his hip. However when Masato wished to be more conspicuous he will disguise his zanpakuto as a parasol in which his blade is concealed in the shaft of the parasol.
When Masato on endeavors that require stealth and more finesse he wears a special outfit for such occasions. This outfit consists of a black bodysuit with no sleeves. Masato wears long gloves over his arm that com up to his biceps. He covers his torso with white armor and wears a mask that covers the entirety of the lower half of his face. He also wears fore arm guards and wraps his biceps in bandages in this attire.
Personality:
Masato is very intelligent and generally quick-witted. Thinking on his feet is what has allowed him to survive this long and become the feared and ruthless leader he has become. While not knowledgeable of all things Masato has a vast wealth of knowledge in regards to the Gotei and shinigami. One of the many benefits of Masato's well developed mind is that he can play on the insecurities, hopes and dreams of others to lure them to do his bidding. This also helps him maintain his place of power within groups of individuals. He has no qualms in sending others to do his dirty work for him. He often uses manipulation and deception to lure enemies to their demise or forces into working for him.As Captain of the Gotei's 2nd Division, Masato has a clear and intimate understanding of keeping secrets and using information or lack thereof as a weapon. This even extends to his style of combat as he never reveals more than he has to to anyone. He likes to save his trump cards until he's left with no other choice. Masato has long since lost the natural human aversion to the revelation in the suffering of others. Through making others suffer he can hold back his own pain and take pleasure in theirs. His brand of sadism isn't solely restricted to physical pain but psychological as well. He will exploit any and all weaknesses to their maximum potential. Masato suffers from a mild case of psychosis. While he can function normally majority of the time his mind often fractures and gives way to hallucinations. These hallucinations vary in subject matter and intensity. At their tamest Masato may hear voices in his head while in their most extreme cases Masato can see and interact with individuals that are not there.

Sealed State: In its sealed state Kowasuten (Shattered Heavens) takes on the appearance of a standard sized katana. The hilt is wrapped in white cloth and the sheath is black with a lacquered finish.The weapon has no crossguard which makes it distinctive among others for lacking such a typical feature.

Release Actions: Masao merely holds out his zanpakuto in front of him when he chants the kaigo of his zanpakuto. Upon chanting the kaigo Kowasuten releases a large omindirectional pulse of reiatsu the expands outward from Masato. This pulse of reiatsu is harmless but its purpose is to transfer Masato's reiryoku into the minds of those present. Thus anyone present during the release of Kowasuten will fall victim to its power. This power can be directed at individuals by using Masato as a conduit so long as he has established physical contact with the desired target be it a person or zanpakuto.
Shikai Appearance: What does your Shikai look like?
Shikai Abilities: Heshioru Eizo - Fractured Reflections: Kowasuten's primary shikai ability creates illusions that are extremely potent. the ability is activated automatically with the activation of shikai. The strength of these illusions are so potent that they can cause physical harm to the victim despite all perceptions not actually occurring to the victim. The nature of the actual illusion is governed solely by Masato and his imagination. By this application the nature of the illusion can range from a pleasant recreation of a memory, the interpretation of one's deepest fantasy, the conjuring of their worst night and everything inbetween. The illusions can also be layered to create illusions within illusions. While the is no limit to the number of applications and scenarios that can be created with Heshioru Eizo the ability isn't without some form of limitation.
Heshioru Eizo is indiscriminate toward its targets. Upon activation anyone within the limits of Heshioru Eizo's area of effect falls under the sway of its illusionary properties. However Masato can nullify this property by making physical contact with individuals he wants to target exclusively with Heshioru Eizo. The nature of the physical contact requires more than just a touch but rather full long lasting contact such as that of a hand on one's shoulder or grabbing an arm or leg. Upon doing this any illusion induced by Kowasuten is perceived only by the individual Masato is touching. The powers of Heshioru Eizo can also be cast upon a shinigami's zanpakuto so long as masato can place his hand upon the enemies zanpakuto when activating the ability.
In addition to Heshioru Eizo's primary failing of attacking all enemies, the ability has one ultimate failing. Hesioru Eizo is highly susceptible to high fluctuations in spiritual pressure. Should an individual (Masato included) raise their spiritual pressure to a high level (such as when releasing Bankai or other forms of immense reiatsu release) Hesioru Eizo's illusions will cease regardless of Masato's will. This doesn't negate or undo any prior damage already done by Hesioru Eizo. However in some cases causing the abrupt end of an Illusion may be more dangerous than letting it play out, but these are rare instances.
